Family pledges to pursue judicial challenge in Azad Kashmir.AGP updates IHC on Ahmed Farhad’s location.Relatives accuse AJK police of lack of cooperation.MUZAFFARABAD: Mere hours after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) was notified about the whereabouts of missing Kashmiri poet Ahmed Farhad, his family visited him on Wednesday at a police station in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).Earlier today, Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) Mansoor Usman Awan informed IHC Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani that the poet has been “apprehended and is presently in police detention” in AJK.The AGP shared this during the hearing of a plea seeking the poet’s retrieval.Urooj Zainab, Farhad’s spouse who approached the IHC on May 15, sought her husband’s return and implored the court to pinpoint, investigate, and bring to justice those accountable for his disappearance.The relatives of the missing poet encountered Farhad at Kahori police station, located just outside Muzaffarabad, subsequent to the court session.After the reunion, the missing poet’s brother informed the media that Farhad’s condition was stable, and now they would contest a judicial fight in AJK.This situation arose after the family alleged that the AJK police were not assisting them by withholding the missing poet’s whereabouts.Farhad, renowned for his rebellious writings, was purportedly taken from his residence on May 14.
