A minimum of 11 militants eliminated in Lakki Marwat intelligence-based operation

RAWALPINDI:

Security forces have neutralized at least 11 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province (K-P), as per a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The nocturnal operation, which transpired from June 10-11, was executed in reaction to an improvised explosive device (IED) blast that claimed the lives of seven soldiers on June 9, including Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas and Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir. ISPR announced that the Pakistan Army forces proficiently engaged the militants’ locations, culminating in the fatalities of 11 terrorists and the annihilation of several hideouts. “Sanitisation of the vicinity is being conducted to eradicate any terrorists in the region, and those responsible for this atrocious act will be held accountable,” stated the military wing’s communiqué. President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday conveyed profound grief over the martyrdom of the security forces personnel. In a statement disseminated by the President’s Secretariat Press Wing, he honored the fallen soldiers of the Pakistan Army and prayed for the exaltation of their ranks in the afterlife. “The nation will eternally remember the sacrifices of its sons and Shuhada,” he remarked. Premier Shehbaz on Monday pledged to annihilate Pakistan’s adversaries during the funeral of Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, who was martyred in a terrorist assault in Lakki Marwat.
