s the mastermind behind DNEG, the award-winning visual effects studio, Namit Malhotra leans into grandeur. The company, decorated with seven Oscar trophies for stunning visual storytelling in movies such as Dune, is blazing through a thrill-filled month. The cinematic landscape brightens on May 17 with the premiere of the animated delight The Garfield Movie, produced by Malhotra himself, paving the way for the much-anticipated Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga debuting on May 24, showcasing DNEG’s meticulous craftsmanship. As the team polishes the ground-breaking Kalki 2898 AD, a multilingual science fiction adventure featuring stars such as Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, set to launch in June, they are also immersed in filming an all-time favorite, the monumental Ramayana, with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash leading the cast. It’s all part of Malhotra’s ambitious drive. “The experience of watching a movie must transcend what you get on a mobile phone or a TV. It needs to utterly astonish you,” Malhotra declares.
