The film industry mourns the loss of Leelu Sidhwani, the matriarch of producer Ritesh Sidhwani’s family, who passed away on May 17th. Her final moments were at Hinduja Hospital in the Khar locality of Mumbai. Bollywood stars including the likes of Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and others were seen paying their respects at the funeral service. Bollywood’s Respectful Gathering at Ritesh’s Home

Excel Entertainment’s Ritesh Sidhwani, co-founded with Farhan Akhtar, had guests arriving at his residence, including Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, who drove in together. Kareena was dressed in a simple white ensemble, while Saif donned a traditional white kurta for the somber event. Farhan Akhtar, along with his sister Zoya, was also observed as they made their way into the home. Amongst the other attendees were Kunal Kemmu and Soha Ali Khan.

A memorial service is planned for May 18, 2024, at Quantum Park RG level, with the cremation to follow at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium on the same day, according to an India Today report.

The previous evening saw Farhan Akhtar alongside Shibani Dandekar visiting the hospital. Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, actors Chunky Panday, Malaika Arora, and the esteemed lyricist Javed Akhtar were also present to show solidarity.

Ritesh, a foundational pillar of Excel Entertainment, recently shared news about the release of ‘Operation Trident’, a film showcasing the Indian Navy’s valorous feats during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. Ritesh’s production debut was the cult-hit ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, directed by Farhan Akhtar, and has since been a part of various successful projects like ‘Rock On!’, ‘Luck By Chance’, ‘Don’, ‘Raees’, and ‘Made in Heaven’.
