A lawmaker from Missouri, US announced in an evening statement on Thursday that his daughter and son-in-law were fatally attacked by gangs while serving as missionaries in Haiti. Ben Baker, a Republican in the House of Representatives, mentioned in a statement: “Many of you are aware that my daughter and son-in-law Davy and Natalie Lloyd are dedicated missionaries in Haiti. They were assaulted by gangs this evening and have both been killed. They ascended to Heaven together.”

The Caribbean nation had been experiencing disorder since February when armed groups seized control of police stations and raided airports in the main city of Port au Prince. Ben Baker further said: “Please pray for my family; we are in dire need of strength. And please pray for the Lloyd family as well. I have no more words at this moment.”

His daughter Natalie and son-in-law Davy were affiliated with Missions in Haiti organization. According to their post on social media, the couple was ambushed by a gang with three trucks full of men right after they exited the church.

It was stated that Davy was taken into a house, bound, and subsequently beaten before the gang stole the group’s vehicles and all their belongings. The charity organization also commented: “After the first gang departed, another arrived, and one member was shot and killed, which led them to enter full attack mode.” The couple attempted to seek help using Starlink internet, but eventually, the gangs continued their assault on the house, leading to their deaths.
