Harry and Meghan’s charity ‘delinquent’ over records mishap, US authority says | UK News

State regulators have flagged Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s charitable organization, Archewell Foundation, for a procedural oversight regarding the submission of vital reports.

A notification dated May 3rd, informed the non-profit institution that its status had been marked as “delinquent” due to missing annual filings and requisite fees.

The communication detailed that entities with such status are restricted from conducting fundraising activities or managing charitable contributions. If the situation isn’t corrected, the group might face suspension or revocation of its registration.

A mix-up in mail delivery is believed to be the cause, with the initial cheque failing to reach its destination. A replacement has been issued to rectify the situation.

This administrative hiccup only came to light following the official publication of the delinquency notice. The organization is hopeful that the resubmission will promptly rectify its standing, anticipating that the correction will be evident in records within a week.

California’s Registry of Charities and Fundraisers has further stressed the seriousness of the matter. They pointed out that proper registration is critical and non-compliance could lead to financial penalties, or more severe, organization suspension or cancellation.
